When
I started this practice in early 1999 I wrote on my first website:
Why should a lawyer's clients
subsidise expensive premises, loss making areas of work and support staff
who add little value? It doesn't have to be this way.
That is as true now as it was 10 years ago. Mine is a niche
practice. Now, as then, I specialise in the law of conservation and the
governance of charities.
I do not take on any of the usual “high street” kinds of legal
work. I very seldom act for individuals or for bodies that are not already
known to me. My overheads are relatively low and my most important expenses
are the cost of communications equipment and good legal information. The
result is that I continue to provide a personal, specialist and
cost-effective service.
